1-day tour to Muriwai Beach & Wine Tasting. Muriwai beach is famous for its coastlines’ shape, surf region and Gannet breeding area. Located northwest of the Auckland region, the dark volcanic sand brings identity and a particular vibration to this extraordinary spot, also known for its wine production.
Beach Walk in Muriwai & Wine Tasting
We depart from Albert Park on Wellesley St next to the Art Gallery in Auckland, 9:00 am. Please don’t be late as other people will have to wait for you and we will have less time for the activities during the day.
A windswept rough coastline and moving hills of dark sand portray Muriwai Beach, one of Auckland’s most prominent beaches. Muriwai Beach is more or less 42 kilometres northwest of Auckland City.
It is an extraordinary view of the dark sand, brought on by the iron substance derived from the old volcanoes in the area surrounded by the native bush. If you love surfing then it is the main pastime at Muriwai Beach.
Also, you can see one of the country’s few mainland Gannet breeding colonies that migrate to Australia and back. The views from the colony are very impressive. There is always something extra when you are with us, as exclusive service, we will take you to visit local wineries for a wine tasting for a memorable tour. The wineries include Nobilo/Selaks, Cooper’s Creek & Matua Valley.
